Coaches: James and Tim
One of the standout moments this season was the team’s promotion into a higher league. It was a big step up in terms of football quality, but the lads rose to the challenge brilliantly. They trained hard every week, grew in confidence, and competed at a higher level. The team finished 3rd in the league and even managed to beat the sides above them. As a result, their self-belief and sense of togetherness grew massively, which was fantastic to see.
Another memorable moment came when the team faced a tough fixture with several players missing through illness and holidays. With only 10 players available, the challenge grew even greater when an injury early in the game reduced the side further. On a cold, windy, and rainy morning, the team showed incredible determination, battling hard and scoring a dramatic last-minute winner to seal a 3–2 victory. An unforgettable moment for everyone on the pitch!
Looking Ahead……..
The team have again, moved into a higher league with teams again at a higher level, so we’re looking forward to pitting our team against these teams and seeing how we can compete and hopefully be successful!
Coaches James and Tim are looking forward to seeing the players continuing to develop in wider attributes. With the players in their 3rd year of high school, we can see a definitely change in some of the lads, but we’re privileged to support their development into their teenage year, supporting their confidence, fitness and sportsmanship!
Three Words to Describe the Team
competitive, comedic – fun!
A huge thank you to all the parents and coaches for the time, effort, and support you give every week. The team wouldn’t be where they are without you.
Good luck to the U14 Whites for the season ahead – from everyone at Altofts Juniors AFC.
